Our Approach to Computing
Technology has made revolutionary changes to our lives. It is an essential part of everyday life and serves a multitude of purposes in modern society. Through Computing at The Marist, we equip our children with the knowledge and skills which enable pupils to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Pupils are introduced to a wide range of technology to ensure that they are digitally literate and able to express themselves. Pupils are equipped with computational skills and problem-solving abilities in order to understand and change the world around them.
Using the Purple Mash software and schemes of work, children are given the opportunity to access an ambitious, diverse and relevant Computing curriculum. In addition to Purple Mash, teachers and pupils use a range of technology in their lessons including iPads, Beebots, Probots, cameras, Data loggers, music recorders and voice recorders to develop their understanding of the digital world. Using a wide range of resources enhances learning, instils computational thinking, attention to detail, collaboration and problem-solving.
