Year 6 Curriculum

PE

All of Year 6 will have outdoor PE with CM Sports on a Tuesday afternoon. PE kits should be worn on their PE day. Children should also wear their PE kit on the days they take part in a sports club. There may be times we ask the year 6 children to wear their school uniform despite this, we will communicate this if it is the case.

A note is required if your child cannot do PE.  No jewellery should be worn for PE or during school, this includes sports watches.

Homework

This year is key for preparing pupils for secondary school and we take homework very seriously – it is vital that the children get in to good habits for organising their time and completing homework to a deadline. As well as English and Maths, children may receive research based topic homework, Science or RE. We encourage a love of reading and appreciate you supporting by hearing your child read, reading to them and asking questions about the reading. It is advised that children receive a good balance of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Reading diaries will need to be returned to school on a Tuesday. Homework will be set on a Thursday to be returned by Tuesday.
