The School Day

The School day and timetables

The School gates are open at 8.30 and the children can come straight in to class from 8.40. At the start of the day, children in EYFS come straight in to their classroom via the external classroom doors. Year 1 children come in through the corridor doors outside St Paul’s class under the supervision of one of our Teaching Assistants. Children in Years 2, 3 and 4 enter the building via the lower KS2 external doors and the Year 5 and 6 children enter via the upper KS2 external doors.

All parents or other adults wishing to enter the school must please use the main office entrance.

At the end of the school day the school gates are opened just after 3.00pm but parents are asked please not to come on to the playground until the bell sounds at 3.15pm. EYFS, KS1 and children in the two Year 5 classes on the ground floor are then released by the teacher at the classroom door to parents/carers. The remaining KS2 classes will come down with their teacher to the playground to be collected by known adults. Any children not collected by 3.25pm are taken to the school office where staff will contact the parents.

Mass and School Liturgy
Mass is said in school by Monsignor Malachy, our Parish Priest. Each class in KS2 takes responsibility in turn for serving, writing the Bidding Prayers and giving the Readings at a Mass. Masses are celebrated in School on all Holidays of Obligation (during term time) and to begin and end each term, for the Year 6 Leavers and at the School’s Harvest Celebration, Ash Wednesday and Marian day. Classes will attend Mass at Our Lady’s on the Friday morning closest to their class Saint’s Day and the KS2 classes will also attend a further Friday morning Mass at Our Lady’s during the course of the year. All parents and parishioners are warmly welcome to attend our celebrations of Holy Mass.
